Assigning and tags

You can assign applications to users and organize them with tags on v2 application detail. Assigning gives an application an owner; tags let you group and filter applications by campaign, priority, or workflow.

Assigning

Assigning an application gives it an owner (e.g. an underwriter or reviewer) so your team can track who is responsible.

  1. Open the application detail page.
  2. In the Overview right rail, open the Assigned accordion.
  3. Click Assign (or the current assignee pill) → select a user → save.
  4. The Agent Dashboard list and Overview refresh with the new assignee.

See Application detail — Overview & header.

The list of assignees comes from your tenant’s users. On the application list, you can filter by assignee using the same tenant user list. If a saved filter references an assignee who is no longer valid for the tenant, the filter is cleared automatically the next time the list loads.

Tags

Tags help you categorize and filter applications (e.g. by campaign, priority, or custom workflow). Each tag has a name and, optionally, a color, which is used to display the tag as a colored pill.

Viewing tags

  • On the application list, the tags column shows tags for each application; you can filter by one or more tags.
  • On application detail, tags appear in the Overview right rail (Tag row) and can be edited if you have permission.

Adding or editing tags on an application

  1. Open application detail → Overview right rail.
  2. In Assigned, use the Tag row (Add tag or existing pills).
  3. Add existing tags from the list or create a new tag (if the UI allows).
  4. Remove tags by clearing them or using the remove control.
  5. Save. Changes apply immediately.

Managing tag list (admin)

If your role allows, you can create or manage the global list of tags (name and color) used across applications. This is typically in a tags or settings area. New tags then become available when assigning tags to applications.

Filtering by tag

The application list builds its tag filter options from the tenant’s current list of available tags. If a tag used in a saved filter is later removed from the tenant’s tag list, the application list clears that invalid tag filter automatically the next time it loads, rather than showing an error.

Worked example

A loan processing team at a credit union uses tags to track a promotional auto-refinance campaign.

  1. An administrator creates a tag called Spring Refi Promo and sets its color to green in the tenant’s tag management area.
  2. An underwriter opens an application for a $22,000 auto refinance, applicant FICO 705, currently in the In Review stage.
  3. In the Overview right rail, the underwriter opens the Tag row and adds Spring Refi Promo.
  4. The underwriter also opens the Assigned accordion and assigns the application to a senior underwriter, Maria Chen, from the tenant user list.
  5. Back on the Agent Dashboard application list, the tags column now shows the green Spring Refi Promo pill for that application, and the assignee column shows Maria Chen.
  6. A manager filters the list by the Spring Refi Promo tag to see all applications in the campaign and reviews assignment coverage across the team.

Later, if the Spring Refi Promo tag is deleted from the tenant’s tag list, any saved list filter using that tag is cleared automatically the next time the list loads, and the tag no longer appears as a filter option.

Use case

A subprime lender runs several outreach campaigns at once and wants operations staff to see, at a glance, which applications belong to which campaign and who owns each one. Instead of relying on notes or separate spreadsheets, the team tags each incoming application with the campaign name (e.g. Q3 Direct Mail, Dealer Referral) as it arrives, and assigns it to the underwriter working that queue. Managers then filter the Agent Dashboard list by tag and by assignee to check campaign volume and workload distribution without opening each application individually.

Best practices

  • Keep the tenant’s tag list short and specific (e.g. campaign names or priority levels) so filtering stays useful.
  • Assign an owner as soon as an application enters a review queue, so responsibility is clear from the start.
  • Before deleting a tag from the tenant tag list, check whether it is used in saved list filters — removing it clears those filters automatically.
  • Use tag colors consistently across your team (for example, one color per campaign) so the tags column is easy to scan.

Unclear or unconfirmed behavior

Some details are not confirmed by available product source and are intentionally left out above:

  • Whether bulk assignment from the application list view is supported for all tenants.
  • Whether there is a limit on the number of tags per application.
  • What happens if two users try to assign or tag the same application at the same time.
