Workspace

Workspace settings hold the basic identity of your tenant — the name that shows up across the dashboard — plus quick access to the other tenant-level settings pages. Use this page when you need to confirm or change what your organization is called inside LendAPI, or when you need to find your way to related settings like Users, Security, or API.

Where Workspace sits

Workspace is one tab in a row of settings tabs. Alongside it you’ll find:

  • Profile – your own user details and password.
  • Workspace – tenant name and related workspace options.
  • Status – pipeline/stage configuration.
  • Configuration – broader tenant configuration.
  • Security – two-factor authentication, single sign-on, and group mapping.
  • Users – tenant user management.
  • API – API access settings.
  • Webhook – webhook configuration.

These tabs live together under the same settings area, so if you can’t find a workspace-related setting on the Workspace tab itself, check the neighboring tabs.

Opening workspace settings

  1. Go to Tenants (or Settings, depending on where you land) and open the settings area for your organization.
  2. Select the Workspace tab from the row of settings tabs.
  3. You’ll see the workspace fields, including:
    • Name – the display name of the workspace (your organization or tenant name).
    • Other tenant-level options, if your tenant has them configured.

Editing workspace

  1. Update the workspace Name (or other available fields).
  2. Save your changes.
  3. The updated name appears everywhere the workspace name is shown in the dashboard.

Only users with the right role — for example, Tenant Admin — can edit workspace settings.

Worked example

Summit Credit Union runs its consumer lending program on LendAPI under the workspace name “Summit Lending.” The operations team decides this name is too generic now that they’ve added an auto-lending product line and want staff to tell the two programs apart at a glance.

  1. A Tenant Admin opens Tenants and goes to the Workspace tab.
  2. They change the Name field from “Summit Lending” to “Summit Credit Union – Consumer Lending.”
  3. They save the change.
  4. The new name now shows wherever the workspace name appears across the dashboard, so staff working across multiple tenants can immediately tell which workspace they’re in.

Use case

A lending operations team manages more than one workspace — for example, a production environment and a sandbox used for testing new loan products. Staff who move between the two need a fast, reliable way to tell them apart without opening a menu and checking a URL. Giving each workspace a clear, distinct name on the Workspace tab (such as “Summit CU – Production” versus “Summit CU – Sandbox”) solves this at a glance.

Best practices

  • Use names that distinguish environments or business lines. If your organization runs more than one workspace, name each one so staff can’t confuse them.
  • Limit edit access to Tenant Admins. Workspace name changes affect what everyone sees across the dashboard, so restrict who can make them.
  • Check related tabs before assuming a setting belongs on Workspace. Users, Security, API, and Webhook settings live in neighboring tabs within the same settings area, not on the Workspace tab itself.

Unclear or unverified

  • Which fields, beyond Name, appear on the Workspace tab for a given tenant is not documented in the available source.
  • What happens if a workspace name is left blank, duplicated, or fails validation is not documented.
  • Whether workspace settings include branding, logo, or contact information is not documented.
  • The exact role name(s) permitted to edit workspace settings beyond “Tenant Admin” are not documented.
